Whoa. What happened here?
In a seemingly annual rite of passage, I’ve switched hosts for babybanacheng. This time, I left squarespace.com for the free world of tumblr.com. There are a few things left to fix, like comments from previous incarnations of the site. Rest assured, they still exist so we haven’t lost anything, but they’re not up yet. Soon enough, soon enough.

Dusting off the cobwebs!
After yet another long hiatus, we’ve got some new photos and videos to share. First, Zeki got an Eid gift from an unknown benefactor (really, who gave him this awesome scooter? It wasn’t marked.) About a month or so ago - time really does fly when you’re a parent - Zeki and his friend Geffen went to the NC Museum of Life and Science and spent some quality time playing together....

Feliz Cumpleaños Zeki!
eat your heart out Martha Stewart Zeki turns 2! Zeki toasted his 2nd birthday with bug cupcakes, milk, and friends from Solecitos. I think the bug cupcakes came out pretty cute. Hopefully that will make up for the fact that the birthday hat I made him looks like a dunce cap. Certainly no dunce here! Happy 1st Birthday Zeki!
2190 diapers + 1825 bottles + 997 lullabies + 2 sleep deprived parents = the first fabulous year of Zeki’s life! Along with the diapers and bottles there have been a million smiles and giggles and delightful moments. And we managed to do all this without doing any (permanent) damage to him! Walking! Snow!
Zeki took his first steps this morning! He’s going to be 11 months old in 3 days and he stumbled forward with purpose. We also played in the snow today. We had a dusting but enough to take photos and sled a bit. Zeki didn’t like it so much but he was more confused than anything else. And being bundled like the Michelin man didn’t help his mood any.

We’ve got 2 new galleries up. Sorry for the long delay uploading them. Lots has happened in the past couple of months. Patty’s mom stayed with us and watched Zeki for 2 months while our day care situation resolved itself. Zeki went for his first swim and he started day care last week.
